Here's page 17 of Fusion #8, and Fusion's "Whoo-hoo" is rudely interrupted by a sonic boom.

Do we have to have the Superman Time Travel discussion now? Her method of flight should make it possible since she is in effect a turbo-fusion - the faster you go the more hits you and the faster you can go. She should consider flying higher too. She wont get the condensation cone, but she also wont risk running into anything that while it may not hurt her, will definitely hurt them. Sadly the fusion process doesn't explain how she gets oxygen for her spacial forays.

BTW despite how it may seem I do love the comic and am glad you are back online. Since you have your own domain now, you might want to look into putting a favicon.gif or favicon.png file onto the root of your server of something fusion related so it can show up in our book mark lists. Maybe the F logo. Only 16x16 or 32x32 is supported, I cant remember which.

You're bringing up all the technical questions (which I like, by the way). I discussed this elsewhere (see this page in Crossoverkill: http://theduckwebcomics.com/Crossoverkill/5322493/) to explain how Fusion can "breathe" in space. Her fusion powers can actually convert into energy that her body and cells can use to survive. Little known fact: As a result of this, Savunn doesn't have to eat and never feels hunger pangs. However, she can still smell food, and those smells can make her mouth water and her crave food. (Of course, she can eat just fine, even though she doesn't have to.)

Just as long she doesn't eat like Dasien!
Remember that webcomic?!?!?

Neil's been updating Dasien again. Also, Savunn actually did a pic featuring Dasien's creator (see http://theduckwebcomics.com/Crossoverkill/5364428/ )

Sadly,I'm unable to view anything over at DD. No matter from my phone or my PC, I get the endless spinny bit and then it times out. I just checked again for laughs and it is still taking too long to respond. I found you many moons ago from Magellen, and then crossed over again. Fortunately and finally, searching for you and DD on Google now hits to a Comic Fury page so as people check back your readers will return. I was SWOC (sad with out comic) for almost 2 months. I don't know if it is possible, but can you also program in a lower set of navigation buttons below the comments? I think getting to next down there too may get more people to be active.

I think your problem is that DrunkDuck changed names to The Duck Webcomics. Try going to theduckwebcomics.com. One of the persisting glitches (at least last time I tried) was that the links function still isn't working, so my link to Crossoverkill there is dead (won't let me change the URL away from the dead druckduck.com link).

Oh. And Magellen is an awesome webcomic. I love Stephen's style, and he was really cool to work with on Crossoverkill. (Actually, all the guys were cool to work with.)

Ha! Awesome!

Ya know, it would be awesome if we could get a little 'F' icon in Fusion's style for putting on IE and Chrome bookmarks.

You're the second to ask about this. I'll look into it. Not sure what ComicFury's coding allows at the moment (and I'm not code-savvy), but I'll see what I can do.

Just cause I'm full of questions sometimes.
If she fuses every strand of her hair and turn it into propulsive energy... wouldn't she be bald when she powers down? Sort of hard to explain that to the folks.

She fuses the atoms that touch every strand of her hair--not her hair. So all of that hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, etc. in the air that touches her hair can be fused. No atoms that compose her body are used.

She does have a top speed - Past mach 1 the air wouldn't have time to reflow around some parts of her (into the roots of her hair, between her legs, etc.) so she'd have less to fuse and use for propulsion. Sooner or later the air resistance/air impact balance will mean she can't push her way through the air anymore.

But *practically* it doesn't matter: at low mach numbers the effect would be minuscule and irrelevant. By the time it starts becoming relevant, she'd likely be going in the hypersonic or high-hypersonic ranges, able to get anywhere on earth within an hour or so (max), and she'd have trouble seeing to react anyway.

(Note this is actually the same problem we have with designing plane engines to operate at those speeds: We need the air to change course to do something, and it just doesn't have time.)

Very cool info here. Thanks! So, basically at some point, her energy output would be limited by the number of atoms that come into contact with her leading surfaces, which would still be billions of atoms, but a limitation I hadn't even thought about.
