Here's page 7 of Fusion #9, and we catch up with our heroine. Seems not all is well after the heroics that ended the previous issue.

I really liked how the first panel turned out--so much so that I made a wallpaper of it. I'll have to upload it at some point as bonus content.

Talk to Bob. He may have some helpful advice. Failing that, try talking to Brooder.
Black Rose 11th Mar 2014, 11:10 AM edit delete reply
Um...Brooder would probably give her a standard lecture on why she shouldn't have done what she did and force her to lay low for political reasons, thus the events leading up to CrossoverKILL.

I think that might depend on how and where she approached him - In public, yes. But I think he might be more sensitive about it in private, especially if she could reason that he was part of why she knew about it.

Well Bob, now's your chance to prove you've got more emotional settings than worry and sarcasm.

Looking forward to the next installment.
Is this chapter also 25 pages or more?

Yep. This issue is 25 pages; issue 10 will be 23 pages. I have the scene breakdowns and outline as well as some rough scripting for issue 11, but don't have a final page count yet, but it'll be in the 21- to 25-page range as well, I imagine.

Fusion is showing quite some emotion here. And for good reason...

I would like to have that wallpaper too. Evert so often you remind us that Fusion is still just a kid.

I'll probably post the wallpaper here after this issue completes. In the meantime, I think I'll post it to my DeviantArt account sometime this week. (Link to my DeviantArt account is at top of page. WARNING: There is some minor nudity on my DeviantArt page.)

Yeah, Fusion is still a kid, but I feel the artwork here reflects the fact she's not quite as much of a kid as she was a few days ago.
I mean, she has always been fairly mature and capable, despite having her head in the clouds over being a superheroine and being a bit goofy as Savunn... but here the things she's seen and experienced shows in subtle ways that suggest she's grasping the world at large and it's not an easy place to have this sort of responsibility.

She's not a kid anymore. imho.

I hope she's not planning to unleash the full fury of her powers,or will she just head home?
jamoecw 14th Mar 2014, 2:06 AM edit delete reply
she needs to help make a long term difference, otherwise all her meddling will be for the worst (by being an example of meaningless power), she may be starting to realize that. it is why troops hate the war, but can't go home until it is done.

jamoecw--All too true.

Likely another little twist of the issue's title. Spit and Wind is similar to the phrase "spitting into the wind"... something generally referring to a completely wasted effort.

Man, always a difficult day when a hero discovers their options are limited to: ignore genocide, kill of an entire government/army and/or conquer a nation to prevent that genocide.
