Here's page 14 of Fusion #10, and it seems The Arabian Knights haven't forgotten about Alanna and the refugees. But what good does their signaling do when Darmar doesn't allow Supers to operate inside its borders?

Black Rose 2nd Dec 2014, 6:51 AM
Maybe they're going to just intimidate the Darmarian forces if they dare to cross the border?!?
EssayBee 2nd Dec 2014, 9:05 AM
If the refugees make it to the border, the Knights can (and would) offer immediate assistance. The problem is the border is still miles away and the Darmarian helicopters are within firing range.

Murdering a whole bunch of refugees and leaving no witnesses is one thing. Murdering them in front of pretty much unimpeachable witnesses who'll be able to report that you opened fire on a bunch of unarmed, fleeing civilians without so much as a call to surrender...
EssayBee 2nd Dec 2014, 9:04 AM
Rens--True, but the Darmarian government could use the "illegal aggression of a foreign Super who is believed to be in the convoy" explanation as a reason to open fire.

Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place...

Will we get to meet other members of the Arabian Knights?
EssayBee 2nd Dec 2014, 4:00 PM
Black Rose--Yep.

At borders, unlike on Maps, there is no actual line that any person can 'see'. Unless all of the Arabian Knights have built in GPS, they could say that they were helping refugees that had already crossed the border, and just make sure any attacking helo's fell on the other side of that virtual line making them the illegal aggressors.

There would be a lot of whining but if the Darmarian's have that little local respect, not much is gonna happen.

I mean look at what happened in Ukraine this summer when Russia essentially annexed a chunk of land. What really happened to the Russians -- sanctions, but not too severe. Europe didn't rise up to push Russia out. There wasn't all out conflict between Russia and anyone but Ukraine. And of course most of the time Russia was claiming that oh a bunch of their military decided to take leave and took their Materiel home. You know hey what's 20-30 tanks...sure let them take them home...makes sense to me!

some countries actually do have personnel take their tanks home with them. it may seem weird to the centralized thinking of the US, but by doing such if any foreign power invaded their forces would be able to respond directly from home and not have to wait to get to base and do a checkout processes. also any preemptive strike would have to hit not just the bases, but every home of the service members in order to eliminate their ability to respond.

Hopefully it is a good signal

maybe do a news story and broadcast footage of the refugees so that it is obvious to everyone that there isn't a super among them? although the super could just be one of the refugees. however if fusion shows up then there would be proof that she isn't with them in disguise.

This a small largely unimportant nit-pick in the grand scheme of things, but is their anyway you can add some extra diversity to character body builds?

It's my understanding that you like to model your characters after actors and celebrities; witch is real nice, but as a result, most of your characters are beauty queens or handsome jocks in your universe. Among the heroes, it makes sense but I haven't seen (or at least haven't noticed) any large amount of variability in civilians.
Do correct me if I'm just being an ignoramus here. I hate to say things that make me look stupid.
EssayBee 8th Dec 2014, 9:33 AM
Coolclaytony--I don't model my characters on any celebrities (you might be getting me confused with Al, who does MindMistress, and I believe models his characters on celebrities--although I have said before that I see Captain Stupendous as Superman as portrayed by Will Smith, which might be what you're thinking of). That said, my style is heavily influenced by Bruce Timm (and the DCAU), Avatar: The Last Airbender, Disney, and various other animated series. Any lack of variability is probably a limit of my art skills. That said, I don't think Harold could exactly be called a handsome jock. And I'm sure Polygraph (the guy without hair from the Fabulous Five) would be flattered to be considered handsome. But overall, I get your point.
