Here's page 3 of Fusion #14, and Richard's father gives a glimpse of Brotherhood of the Flaming Sword's ideology (and hints at how far back in history the Brotherhood goes).

If so, he'd be calling for a horse right about now.

Guess that explains the "Flaming Sword" bit, here I thought you'd chosen it just because it sounded cool. Reverend Expletive might have a few choice, censored words with them over their take on things...

...The good pastor might have some opinions on the matter of how literal they seem to be about some of the stories in Genesis, the fact that they are equating love with sin, about the fact that they are taking on the role of judge, jury and executioner when it comes to matters of moral decency, the fact that they are not allowing for grace or the fact that humans are, according to Lutheran theology, are both sinners and saints, capable of both great compassion and falling short of that costly pearl, that true grace that comes from striving to be worthy of the grace that God offered in the form of his only son.

I mean, sure, there would probably be censored words if he was in costume, but if he was in his clerical garb, he'd be probably tempted to swear but not go for it. Unless they *really* bloody went for it.

I think it's safe to assume that the Brotherhood sees themselves as agents of God's wrath and probably don't pay much attention to the New Testament (since they believe they were chosen by God long before the New Testament was written).

Oh dear.

I half agree with daddy there but not the method that he is hinting at. I do not believe same gender love is true Love. I do think it is wrong to settle with the same gender, but I also respect their choice.

After all, humans, and indeed 90% of the creatures that walk this dirt ball drifting in a sea of starry blackness would not be gender divided as man and woman, male and female if we were designed to be with the same gender.

Don't get me wrong, I still remember my own tryst with a girl in my teen years and got off on the thrill of her touch but it eventually faded to feel weird then down right wrong. A friend showed me Romans 1 and 2 (I think) and I quickly realized why I felt that way. I read it as a youth and once the thrill wore off I think it was God's way of whispering to me that her affections were wrong.

Today I still feel those urges when I see a pretty woman, but it's more artistic than lust. I admire her hairstyle, her body, simply as God's handiwork and possibly a twinge of jealousy. :P

In closing, I'll say I don't mind gay people and seeing gay relationships, I do read a few gay comics, but it's just not my cup of coffee.
